Lava hissed and shrieked, like the cries of dying beasts. The red liquid bubbled and crept up, then shrank back down, threatening to swallow and devour anything that came close. The Devil watched the lava pit with a look that could almost be called fondness. It was so unmerciful, for a single touch would send one reeling in a hellish world of pain. It cared not who you were, who you served... it was blind in all but its will to seek and destroy life. How admirable it was.
The Beast rose from his resting place by the lava pit. He had many names... his own being Darvin, but his others varying from The Beast, The Devil, Great One... Demon. And he truly looked like the spitting image of every one of those names. Horns arched dangerously from his head, curving down and forward, threatening to skewer anything that came close to range of his snapping jaws. Scars covered muzzle and right shoulder, almost a bright pink against black, sleek fur. The tail that once was was now merely a skeletal reminder, held together by who knew what. The area that led to the tail, back and back of legs, was a bright red, and constantly dripped an acrid blood that hissed as it came into contact with anything, instantly drilling into the surface with the intensity of acid.
His journey carried him through the crisscrossing pathways of the lava pits. The pathways were merely a yard or so wide, framed on each side by bubbling lava; any who slipped here wouldn't live to tell of it. His minion count had been growing smaller, as of late. The thought troubled his mind, and had been for some time now. He needed more to take under his dark reign, and that would mean turning those of normal wolf blood to the darker breed. He grinned. As long as they were willing to do the killing it took for their side, he was willing to turn them.
He left the lava areas, paws now taking him up a long cavern. Nearing the top after almost a few hours of silent pacing, he stopped. His head went up, eyes narrowed. The demon beast emitted an evil aura at all times, and now this aura was free to stretch out over miles of surrounding area, telling any of evil intent that there wasa supreme beast here. It also carried an under intent of invitation. And power.
